Bernadette Banner |Dress Historian Analyzes ‘Historical’ Film Costumes

| Reviewed |

It is always a pleasure listening to a well-tuned expert such as Ms. Bernadette Banner.

As a disciple of Jesus by default one studies vanities, righteousness, and the nature of good and evil. Wish, note, not praying, that I could spend a week or two asking questions then just listen to Ms. Banner as her knowledge of fashion is a thing of beauty to behold.

Here then is some solid fashion advice that is good not only for this world but the one to come.  Though be warned such attire is not fashionable at the moment in this wicked world.

[private role=”administrator”]Hello there, Welcome to my historical sewing adventures! Generally the garments I study (and thus, the content I produce) range from early Medieval through Edwardian: anything and everything before the widespread use of the electric sewing machine. My goal is to investigate the practices and materials used throughout history in order to better understand the clothes themselves, as well as the people who wore them. I do also make most of my everyday clothes myself–reflecting historical details, of course–so there’s a bit of that round here as well. So whether you’re here here for the history–or instead wish to learn a bit of the historical origins behind these garments before adapting them to your modern needs, I bid you warmest welcomes!
