In an attempt to fight discrimination, Google’s Chromium project is striving to write gender and racially neutral code. According to Google’s code style guide, the company will replace words such as “blacklist” and “whitelist” with “blocklist” and “allowlist”.
“Terms such as “blacklist” and “whitelist” reinforce the notion that black==bad and white==good. That Word Black, by Langston Hughes illustrates this problem in a lighthearted, if somewhat pointed way,” notes the company.
As per a recent commit on Chromium Gerrit, a developer has attempted to replace all instances of “blacklist” and “whitelist” in “components/blacklist”. The development comes in the wake of protests against racism and police brutality in the US. Google Chrome Will Remove Words like ‘Blacklist’ and ‘Whitelist’ in Code | Beebom

Why stop at “blacklist” and “whitelist”?
What about the code itself?
There is only one solution – write code that is invisible on the screen.
To use yellow letters in code congers up negative notions of Chinese opium dens.
To use brown letters is to mock the seriousness of the black lives matter movement.
To use white letters in code is to give a prominent place to white people.
To use green code lettering is to mock the rich for their monopolies of wealth, power, and control of search results.
Sure, everyone who is programming all day long in front of the computer when seeing blacklist and whitelist thinks immediately of slaves and masters.  All that pizza being consumed by programmers is really guilt eating because they are having ravenous thoughts of genetic superiority or inferiority.
This simpleton approach to loving your neighbors as yourself is for fools without sense. This nonsense does nothing to fill the heart with selfless love. Only Jesus can do that and when He does all words become pure. To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled. (Titus 1:15)

Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.
(Proverbs 9:6)

This kind of simpleton thinking is only stirring up hatred, division, and strife between neighbors by appealing to the self-righteous lusts in sinful men and women. A self-righteousness that deprives individuals of earning a living,  silencing through intimidation and the indoctrination of arrogance in children who grow up to be self-righteous anti-thinkers. Thus creating a more hate-filled nation than the culture they supposedly sought to change.

And they took offense at him. – Matthew 13:57
