Psychology – Philosophy
Psychology is a Philosophy
While psychology might discover the basics of human motivation there is no substitute for the power of the Living God actually working in a person’s life.
Two things to consider.
1. Psychology’s foundation is based on human teaching and traditions that will always fall short in transforming a person. Psychology is, in reality, a philosophy, a religion.
The Truth found in Colossians 2:8 of the Bible is self-evident.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
2. The Living God is eager to protect your mind if you will surrender all to His will. There is no comparison between psychology and the power of the Living God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
God guards the minds of those who love Him but few are they who really desire His protection.
The question each person’s life will answer is which Counselor did they listen to?
The counselors based on the tradition of Freud’s psychology or God’s Holy Counselor?
Jesus said He would send the Counselor, a Spirit of Truth but so few are willing to listen and learn.
When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. (John 15:26)
